Dinner last night.
I made the best “diet” Steak and mushroom sauce last night. Read on for how I made it.
Ingredients -
Steak of your choice
1/2 a large brown onion finely sliced
4 large button mushrooms sliced
5-10g butter (depends on much of a diet you are on)
1/2-1 cup of white wine
1 large clove garlic crushed
1 heaped table spoon of philly cream for cooking
6 basil leaves
Small bunch of flat leaf...

Morning Dad
Well it’s that time of year, the nights are getting colder and my little petri dishes are bringing home various types of plague back from their school and child care centre.

Remember what your parents gave up
When you are in the middle of parenting, you sometimes forget what your life used to be like before kids. I was reminded of this when we went out for dinner last week, just the family (just the 6 of us ;)). As I offered my wife the rice and then the curry, I said to Mel “When was the last time we did this?”.
Sure we have been to maccas and food courts etc, but we both couldn’t...
Yve is back and badder than ever.
We had our appointment at the fracture clinic on Wednesday for Yve’s leg. I had the expectation that they would take an x-ray and see how it was going, then put on a fiberglass cast for another 2-3 weeks as the temporary plaster was only put on 10 days earlier.
When I arrived at 10:29am for my 10:30am appointment there were approximatley 1.8 million people sitting in the waiting area....

Making a liar out of me
Yve is 4 months old today. I said to Mel, “Yve is supposed to go up 30mls in her bottles today, what do you think?”. “Does she drain the bottles she has now?” Mel responded. I said “hardly ever”. Mel responds, “well leave her for the moment.”
First 2 bottles today… Drained and wanting more :|
There goes Father of the year.
My not yet 4 month old baby broke her leg last week.
Writing that sentence made me feel sick to the stomach. I have had this feeling a number of times over the last week as I reflect on what I did to cause Yve to break her leg. I initially didn’t want to make this post, as I didn’t want people to know, but I think it is important to be true to this blog and to post everything, good, bad and ugly...

Getting dressed
I just let my 3 year old pick out his clothes and get dressed. He came out with shorts on, undies on his head and 2 socks on the same foot… At least they were matching ;) Do you have any funny “Dress yourself” stories?
