Where is my Doodle?
Recently we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. At the start of the movie, there was a competition to win “3 Plush Chipmunks”, to win you had to write in 25 words or less “Which chipmunk are you like and why?”.
This is what the kids came up with -
Yve - “Eleanor, because I have chubby cheeks and I like to wear my hair in pig tails.” (the boys helped with Yve’s response.)
Jaec - “Simon, because I wear glasses and want to be a scientist.”
Kaine - “Alvin, because I like having fun and playing all the time.”
Izaac - “Theodore, because I am the smallest out of all my brothers and have chubby cheeks.”
A few weeks went by and 3 out of the 4 kids received an email stating that they won! I guess Kaine wasn’t inventive enough with his response. A few days later we received the little chipmunks and what I thought was going to be an issue, all 4 shared the 9 characters quite well. 6 of the boys and 3 of the girls.
Yve was happy with whatever chipmunk she picked up and wandered around muttering “Baby!”.
The boys chopped and changed, but Izaac (5) kept Theodore close. Saturday I woke to Izaac searching the play room frantically.
“What’s wrong mate?” I asked wiping sleep from my eyes.
“I can’t find my doodle!” he responded distraught.
I would be distraught too if I lost mine… I only had moments to think about how I would respond.
“Hold on mate, take your time, what have you lost?”
“MY DOODLE, I CAN’T FIND MY DOODLE!”
“Show me buddy where was it?” I responded, worried about what was coming next.
“I had it in bed last night and then I woke up and it was gone.” he replied while walking briskly to his bedroom.
Kaine was in his room when we got there, playing with Alvin.
“Kaine, have you seen my doodle?”
“Kaine, what is he talking about?” I asked.
“He can’t find Theadore, he has been looking for him all morning” he responded without looking up from his toy.
“Aaaah, Theodore Izaac?”
“Yeah Doodle, I can’t find him.”
“Close enough” I was just happy he still had his doodle.
