Dinner last night.
I made the best “diet” Steak and mushroom sauce last night. Read on for how I made it.
Ingredients - Steak of your choice 1/2 a large brown onion finely sliced 4 large button mushrooms sliced 5-10g butter (depends on much of a diet you are on) 1/2-1 cup of white wine 1 large clove garlic crushed 1 heaped table spoon of philly cream for cooking 6 basil leaves Small bunch of flat leaf parsley
Cook your steak how you like it in a medium fry pan, make sure you season with salt and pepper. Remove from pan and wrap in foil to keep warm.
Add onion, garlic and Butter. Reduce heat to medium, cook until onions just begin to soften. Add the wine and reduce while scraping the pan until the wine is cooked off and the onions are soft.
Add the mushrooms, cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the Philly cream and stir through. Taste, add salt and pepper if needed.
Serve up steak and other veggies. Chop up herbs finely and stir through the sauce. Serve on the steak straight away.
